Dyakuyu (thank you) for Container 9
27 March 2026Hello members of Container Movement!
As we prepare to load Container TEN in Feilding, we’d love to share a brief update on Container 9.
It arrived in Kryvyi Rih on 12 January, and the volunteer team SPYS KR has been working tirelessly to distribute aid across regions. This has been under extremely challenging conditions — freezing temperatures of up to -20°C and prolonged blackouts caused by continued attacks on electricity infrastructure. This is why reporting has been a little slower than usual.
Most importantly, the critical aid has reached those who need it most — hospitals, field hospitals, stabilisation units, rest homes, foster homes, and our Defenders on the front line.
Medical supplies are always in high demand, along with wheelchairs, medical beds, and adult disposable nappies. The delivery of thermal clothing, sleeping bags, and electrical tools was especially timely and made an immediate difference at the front line.
Back in NZ, our team has been busy preparing Container TEN. The Feilding team organised wheelchairs, while the Auckland team, working with Medical Aid Abroad, secured nearly 200 boxes of critical medical supplies, including an anaesthesia unit and collected your generous donations. Communities in Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, and Christchurch have also been fundraising to support shipping and essential items.
Well done, everyone. Every donation — small or large — makes a huge difference.
Please keep going so we can send Container ELEVEN very soon!💙💛
