Help Xena with her rehabilitation

  • Xena update 🥺

Poor wee xena has had so many ups and downs, she makes improvements then goes backwards.

In last two days I noticed she's getting picky with food and losing weight plus right eye was not dilating like other. Her belly also felt 'full'

I managed to get her to vet today and they suspected on examination that she may have a mass and will do an xray.

Unfortunately xray (attached) shows just that 💔🥺

At present she is home on iv fluids, kept warm and syringe fed along with alot of cuddles.

She may not make it another week if her overall quality of life doesn't improve or if can't do surgery we will have to say goodbye 💔💔

Xena our wee princess warrior from onehunga has been through so much but since end of June she received nothing but pampering and love. She has been the face of the Cat Coalition Onehunga desexing project after being shot with a bb gun causing severe injury to her spine (just one of 150 rescued /desexed) .

She has loved every day since being rescued and if we cannot save her we will treasure every moment we had with her...

Her expenses has been over $1000 so if you are able to help towards her vet bills we appreciate it.

She deserves nothing but the best for being treated like trash and shot when just a wee kitten

This is a huge reminder of what heartbreak Rescues deal with daily.. So many shot, so many neglected, abandoned, dumped, born on the street.

Please support Rescues as they are doing it tough financially and emotionally, especially more so since covid hit our country.

We thank you for your support and keep praying for Xena 🙏🥺❤️

She's had a rough ride during lockdown.. 😢

She was having trouble with one back leg that appeared to be in pain and had bad diarrhoea.

She's had two visits to vet for bloods and check up xray.

We had her on pain relief and meds for diarrhoea which has helped. And fed roast chicken, nothing but the best!

Today she is walking better but still falls over when grooming and diarrhoea improving.

Though her bloods are very concerning..

We will repeat them again to see if any improvement as muscle loss and kidney issues are concerning..

To date we have spent $1300 on treatment..

She is such a sweet girl and really loves cuddles on the couch.

We hope we can get her healthier as she deserves a loving home.

Please share and help donate to her cause.

We will add more pics to gallery

  • Xena treatment and pellet update

      23 July 2021

Xena went in for another acupuncture treatment, it seems to calm her and she is becoming less scared of strangers ❤️

Her toxoplasmosis test came back same low level as last time so her mum could have caught it before given birth, does not indicate her neuro symptoms are linked to that and may not know if it's linked to her shooting... 😢

While we were at vets we were discussing location of pellet and given how close it was to top of skin now (seems to have been moving to top of skin) we could safely remove without any sedation..

We now have the official evidence of her being shot 😡

Xena is doing amazing considering her condition. Love her to bits ❤️❤️

She is doing as well as can be expected.

She is getting more smoochy and purring with her foster mum ❤️and eating well.

    Loves lying by the heater.

She is currently wearing preemie nappys (with cute pooh bear/piglet on them🥰) until we can try to work on using a litter tray but she struggles moving legs still (stands well).

We are going to have a week of acupuncture to see if that helps.

She will be due for blood test next week to check if any neuro symptoms could be treated as has low levels of toxoplasmosis.

She doesn't appear to be in pain.

She's loving living inside and loves her foster mummy's cats and dog. Such a sweet girl.

But her journey will be long one until we know final diagnosis before can be adopted
