Hi, everyone it’s Zara McBride (previously Porteous)
I am a 23 year old woman and have been chronically ill for over 7 years with multiple severe vascular compression syndromes, which have only been discovered in the past six months. My major abdominal blood vessels are being crushed, leaving me in constant pain and unable to live a normal life.
The only hope for me is complex surgery in Germany that isn’t available in New Zealand. We are hopeful to raise $150,000 by mid-October.
Even the smallest donation – even $10 – can help me get closer to the surgery that could give me my life back. I am so grateful for any support, whether it’s donating or simply sharing my story. 💛

Surgery Date 1 September 2025
Thank you to every single one of you 🤍 Surgery date has been pulled forward and confirmed for October 9th. I will have scans and tests done the week prior on October 2nd. Grateful to be pushed through and urgent enough for them to fit me in 🙌🏼🤎
