HELP ZION REPRESENT NZ IN THE AUSTRALASIAN SCOOTER CHAMPIONSHIP COMPETITION IN APRIL 2018

ZION KIRIPATEA AGE 13 FROM MARAENUI NAPIER IS A DEDICATED SCOOTER ENTHUSIAST WHO HAS WORKED HARD AND GAINED HIMSELF THE TITLE OF UNDER 14 CHAMPION OF NZ, LET ME TELL YOU HIS STORY,

It all started with a trip to the local skate park on the marine parade in Napier when Zion was 9 years old he was given a challenge from his uncle to drop in on the half pipe which was 12ft for $2 which his uncle placed at the bottom for him to collect,

Zions relentless courage and eagerness lead him to a big crash, but the thrill of adrenalin was enough to spark his determination to keep trying until he had achieved it.

Anyone who has come across Zion will know that he is fearless and unstoppable when it comes to scooter riding and he has been infatuated with this sport ever since,

Over the years Zion has competed in many Hawkes Bay Competitions and has been ranked in the top 5 for Hawkes Bay,

He won his very first MGP scooter in a local tournament at the age of 10 when he attempted his 1st backflip and landed it,

He would spend hours at the sk8 zone rink and even travel to all the skate parks in both Hastings and Napier and even Hamilton to try and fine tune his art, from bus rides to skating to the parks he was determined to take each in his stride and know each individual skate park,

When the new Bay Sk8 opened up in Napier the entry fee was really steep $16 each time but this did not stop Zion he began to clean the equipment and sweep the grounds to gain entry just so he could skate everyday!!

Sometimes you would think that Zion lives at the Bay sk8 because he's always there day in day out that's where you will find him,

After many years of practice the team at Bay skate new he was ready and had the potential to go far so they entered Zion in the National scooter tournament in Christchurch on the 20/01/2018

ALL Zions hard work had paid off as he won his section and now holds the title of number 1 for his age group for NZ,

He was automatically entered into the 2018 AUSTRALIAN SCOOTER CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT IN SYDNEY IN APRIL,

Zion fund raised to get himself to Christchurch doing Sausage sizzles and Raffles to selling ice blocks to fellow skaters on hot days

WE need your help to get Zion and his support person to the championships in April

Our aim is to raise $5000 for passports, flights accommodation food etc and also to buy him a new scooter to compete with,

His aim is to gain sponsorship at this tournament and skate amongst the professional skaters,

Please help Zion to be able to compete in Australia to represent NZ

This will be his very first trip abroad and we all hope to get him their to not only represent himself and his family but also his country
