Amadeus steps towards recovery

Kia ora, Amadeus Bishop is a 22 year old Auckland male. Once a captain of Green Bay High Schools first XV and a committed sportsman throughout all his years of life playing every other sport under the sun and continuing on to play club rugby once he left School. Recipient of sportsman of the year award during his final days of school, it was clear to see he truly had a passion and drive to make it his permanent lifestyle.

Since leaving high school he has regularly been serving at his local church and the wider community when possible.

Being diagnosed with 2 herniated discs (disc bulge L4 and L5) in the lower lumbar region as well as Sacroiliac joint dysfunction of the right side (un-diagnosed by specialist currently). All dreams of Fitness, Rugby, bodybuilding and a future of intense physical activity completely shattered.

This has occurred over time to the point where he has been in chronic pain for the past 11 months.

After seeing a specialist there was no question about open back surgery, (SI joint still un-diagnosed, looking at 1-3 surgeries for open back and pelvis)

In the past Amadeus has broken his wrist (scafoid) and jaw, clean in half in 2 places on two separate occasions and claims the pain level of those broken bones is nothing compared to the pain he experiences daily.

He has been living out of his car and couch surfing for the past 3+ months because he cannot afford rent and transport to his medical appointments, let alone treatment. Not to mention ongoing payments to the educational provider FITLINK which he cannot pay.

This is just the beginning as some of you may know about FITLINK which has been in the news lately. Amadeus has landed himself in debt, and has been cheated out of hundreds of dollars. It is also questionable whether he is going to get a qualification after spending thousands of dollars with the organisation. Although if he is able to gain a qualification from this, future costs are going to be required and if left unpaid thousands down the drain for nothing and no qualification to go with it.

He also has been cheated out of any ACC income payments by his passed employer as well (fired and forgotten, employer name suppressed for private reasons).

I reach out to the public for help because he has nothing else he can do, chronic and excruciating pain means he is unable to do any one thing for a prolonged period of time. With the severity of his condition his circumstances will not be changing any time soon, financially or medically.
