Please help our baby

Auckland

Hey Guys and Gals. This morning my baby boy Calais was diagnosed with parvovirus, which is a disease that eats away the cells in his intestines and is fatal, alot of younger dogs are prone to catching this disease.

When I found out he had parvovirus and what it was going to cost I did not hesitate to post my car up for sale to get some money together to pay for his medical expenses. When I posted up my car I did not expect the amount of support I received and the number of generous people who were willing to donate and especially surprised by the support from the 'rfb' car scene. I did not intend for this to turn into a fundraiser, my partner and I are only 18 and have recently moved to auckland and used our savings to get into a house. Unfortunately within a few days our boy has caught this disease, all we are asking for is a little bit of help as we dont want to lose our baby nor do we have the funds to give him the best treatment possible.

It all started on Sunday evening when he threw up which we thought was just him eating his food too fast or eating too much. But he kept throwing up every 30mins or so, so we stayed up with him all night making sure to keep him hydrated. The next day he was a bit tired and still had no appetite but not vomiting so we assumed that it must've been getting over a bug. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, as Tuesday morning he vomited again this time it contained a little bit of blood. Seeing this he was taken straight to the closest vet were they didn't do a very good examination and just gave him a Anti Nausea injection that should've worked with in a few hours, then told us if he keeps vomiting to take him back. He did keep vomiting but we took him to a different veterinary clinic as I was not happy with the level of care at the first vet. This vet gave him a thorough examination but ruled out parvovirus and just recommended that he go into the after hours clinic for testing for a blockage in his throat or intestines and a Drip to keep him hydrated. The after hours veterinarian done a blood test and X-rayed Calais. The X-ray come back clear that there was no blockage anywhere and the blood test also came back normal and healthy. This lead to the 3rd veterinarian (at the after hours clinic) to also ruled out parvovirus and diagnose Calais to have a stomach full of worms which is causing him to vomit. So recommended that we take Calais back to the vets to have a worming treatment. Weird because we worked him less than 3 weeks ago. So a ridiculously large bill later then just to go and see a 4th veterinarian that said that worms wouldn't make him vomit and took another blood test that tested positive for the parvovirus. So now our baby is in isolation and an intensive care unit, fighting for his life.

We are very proud people and hate having to ask for help but we are desperate. As vets do not do accounts for these types of treatments. So it's like we're stuck in the middle of no where with a flat tyre without a jack. Any little bit while be greatly appreciated and will help our boy Calais to being a step closer to being his bubbly self once again. He is one of the most loving dogs you'll ever meet and he has the the ability to brighten up anybody's day.

PLEASE HELP US so that Calais can be up and dosing around for many more years to come

I'm involved because my partner and I rescued Calais from being put in a sack with a brick and thrown into a river. We've raised him from only a few weeks old. He is like a child to us and we love him more than anything.
