Carter Renata Bowel Surgery

Carter now 4 years 8 months was born with gastroschisis which resulted in short bowel syndrome at birth.

He is on machines 16 hours a day to give him TPN (total parental nutrients) through a central line and he has a GI tube in stomach to run continuous feeds of neocate over those 16 hours.

In November he will be going in for a step procedure (his 2nd in 2 & half years) which is to lengthen the bowel that he does have left and give food more time to absorb and digest so we can try lessen machine times but we also need to get Carter to eat more for his bowel to adapt.

Being in and out of hospitals Carter got ESBL which means he has to be isolated every surgical hospital stay missing out on playroom time and confined to just one room.

Recovery Time from this surgery is 2-4 weeks meaning there is going to be a lot of boredom.

Please help us raise the funds for an Ipad and some time out of the hospital when Carter is feeling up to it again plus the annoying extra food costs.
