Charlotte underwent life saving surgery on her 3rd birthday in 2013 after a bleed from a Giant Basilar Brain Aneurysm. Now it's back!
Manawatu / Whanganui
The day before Charlotte Stewart' 3rd birthday in 2013 she never woke up. Unknown to her family she had suffered a bleed in her brain from a Giant Basilar Brain Aneurysm.
She was flown to Starship and underwent life saving surgery on the day of her 3rd birthday where 29 wire coils were placed into the Aneurysm.
Unfortunately due to the place of the Aneurysm in her brain Surgeons were unable to fully fix the problem.
Charlotte suffered a couple of strokes and had to learn to walk and talk all over again.
Things had been going good and Charlotte started School at the beginning of the year and was doing well.
NOW after a routine check up at Starship last week the family received deverstating news that the Brain Aneurysm was back!
Charlotte is now due to undergo Surgery once more but there are alot of risks involved.
Please help us to help this loving family get through this and be able to spend precious time with their beautiful wee Charlotte.
Funds will go to Medical Costs, Travel & Anything that Charlotte will need while undergoing this treatment.
Charlotte underwent life saving surgery again on Wednesday 10 june. She is now in ICU in recovery.
Updates will be made of her progress.
Thank you to everyone for all your support and love xxx
I am fundraising to help Charlotte & her beautiful family. All money raised will go towards Charlotte's rehabilitation & things she may need to help her in the future.
Charlottes Progress 16 June 2015
Although we won't know for at least 6 months if Charlottes surgery has been a sucess, she continues to make good progress after her huge surgery.
They managed to place 2 stents inside her head to reduce blood flow around her aneurysms, and she now has 35 wire coils filling her aneuryms up in the hope of trying to get them to stop growin.
She will be heading home in the next few days where she will continue her recovery.
