Help us to help Denise and her family.
Auckland
Diagnosed just 3 weeks ago on the 10th March 2017 with terminal cancer that has rapidly spread from the stomach lining to the liver, bowel and stomach nerves. Living in a coastal community, one hour's drive from the central hospital, means we need to raise funds to allow us to keep Denise at home for as long as possible. The place she wants to be. Home - in a small local community that Denise has been actively involved with for more than 30 years.
I am the spokesperson (and elder sister) reaching out on behalf of Denise and her immediate family. Denise has been a huge part of the Kawakawa Bay Community for over 30 years, and appreciated by all.
Our goal is to raise funds for the family to be able to contribute to end of life care for this extraordinary woman - as she deserves.
Update 11 April 2017 11 April 2017
At this point, I think it would be remiss not to acknowledge the kindness we've seen in the last weeks from the community in Kawakawa Bay, and from friends & family near and far. The kind words, the cards, the lovingly homemade food, the flowers, the givealittle page.......it goes on. We tell Mum every day of your actions and she feels every bit of your love.
Thank you all so much for your support.
The Martin-Welsh Family.
