Bay of Plenty
One of my goals I set last year was representing my country one day and I have finally accomplished this goal. I have been selected and will be a representative in the NZ Xterra team who will be travelling to Hawaii Maui to compete in the Xterra world champs in late October 2015.
I first stated multisport only in high school in my 3 year/yr 11. my family is really into sport such as hockey soccer cricket and are all very good at those sports, when I got introduced into multisport I was determined to try my best as this was a new sport not only for me but my family when I did my first race, was not actually multisport/Xterra it was a half marathon after that race I was hocked and put a goal in my head to represent NZ on the big stage to rep nz for running but I found satisfaction in a new sport (multisport/endurance racing) having done very well in New Zealand and now want to show my hard work to the world stage. and my race in Maui.
during my 2 years of my sport I have achieved the following below
1st Australasian Multisport Championships 2014/2015
1st New Zealand Secondary Schools Multisport Championship 2014/2015
1st Greymouth Mountain Man and Goat Race
1st U23 Hamilton Half Marathon 2012/13/14
1st Whangamata 12hr Adventure Race
Taupo Cycle Challenge 2013/2014
Taupo Half Marathon 3rd Overall
Whakatane Monty’s Revenge Multisport Challenge 3rd place
1st U23 Kawerau King of the Mountain
Wihi nugget Multisport challenge 1st over all
boat shed multisport challenge mission 1st overall
(and many more races)
As part of this journey I need to raise $6000 to get myself over to Hawaii . This amount includes; flights, accommodation, food costs, travel as well as purchasing my tri suit for the race .
In order to raise this amount of money, I have been doing work for friend. To date I have done a lot of, babysitting, working in orchards and working at soul organics a locals juice shop in Whakatane. Any contribution you are able to make will be much appreciated. I am so excited to be representing NZ, thank you for helping me realise my dreams
montys revenge 6 October 2015
on the 20th of September I competed in our local Whakatane multi-sport race Robinson's Law Monty's Revenge had lots of pressure as being one of the favourites to take out the race with a very solid line up of highly talented people. lucky for us she was a (Stallar) day helping me taking out the race by 11mins and also beating my business house team that was giving me a true fight in the kayak and run thanks to Craig and Phillip. Also making my day even beater I came out over all with the fastest MTB, Kayak and Run
