We are wanting the best for our we girl to get better and get the treatment she needs

Leila has suffered from a bowel motility disorder since birth. She is nearly five and has spent about a week every three months in hospital receiving strong medication via a nasal gastric tube for the last two years. Her body has become so intolerant to all the numerous medications she has had over the last five years, nothing seems to work effectively anymore. She has travelled back and forth to Wellington for different procedures and her parents have recently been told there is nothing more the doctors can do other than place a chait tube in the side of leilas tummy to pump the medication through. As any parent would, her Mum and Dad wanted a second opinion to know they were doing the right thing by their precious wee girl so last week Leila and her mum travelled to Auckland to try and get some answer from a highly sort after ( and very expensive) paediatric gastroneterologist, unfortuantely he could not provided any more options other than what had been discussed about the chait tube. Leilas parents are still trying alternate ways to help Leila along with her daily medication until they see her specialist to revisit having the surgery. Everything she has been through so far has meant lots of sacrifice for the whole family, Leila has a brother and sister who have been amazing and very understanding missing out on days and sometimes longer without mum or dad around because they have had to be up at the hospital with Leila. Mum constantly has to take time off work for hospital appointments specialist appointments, travelling to Wellington and Auckland for surgery and to meet with different specialist. But they would never have it any other way because Leila has such an amazing spunk about her, a devilish twinkle in her eye, she is such a loving and caring wee girl and not once has she ever complained about what she is going through she gets on with it when she feels sick and miserable and is such an inspiration to her family. This fundraising is to help cover cost of unpaid leave from work while leila is in and out of hospital and when she has the chait tube it'll mean at least four weeks off work for her mummy and ongoing cost medication and also unfunded specialist cost and travel..
