I'll be pushing Cameron in his wheelchair for the Round the Bridges Kids Challenge to fund raise for McKenzie Centre, a great organisation.
Waikato
Cameron and I have been friends for nearly 5 years now. We met through the McKenzie Centre where I used to work and I supported him through daycare until it was time for school. We became fast friends and even when it was time to say goodbye when he turned 5, we just couldn't bear it so we still hang out and have heaps of fun together (nearly 3 years later)!
Words can’t describe how much I love Cameron – he is incredible. He has a beautiful smile, a whole lot of personality, and a top notch sense of humour!
The McKenzie Centre is an early intervention centre for kids up to 6 years old. Cameron has cerebral palsy and the McKenzie Centre was such a great support for him in so many different ways, for example speech, strength, equipment to help him participate more and make life easier. I've worked with several children in my 5 years of working for the centre, as an education support worker, and I have seen for myself that the kids receive SO many benefits from the support they get. The team is great at what they do and they really do care a lot.
Round the Bridges is coming up on the 15th of November and Cameron will be participating in the Kids Challenge (2 km). I’ll be pushing him in his wheelchair and together we’d like to fund raise for the McKenzie Centre as a thanks for the wonderful role they have played in our lives and to support the current/future kids there.
We’d be delighted if you were able to sponsor us!
It would mean so much to us.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.
I'm involved in fundraising because I used to work for the McKenzie Centre and I know they help the children a great deal, and I would also like to give back to them as a thank you for the wonderful experience they gave me while working for them.
