Milarn is only 8 months old and was recently diagnosed with leukaemia (ALL) This page is to support her and her family
Taranaki
Milarn and her identical twin Makaia were born fighters. They are 3rd generation Brooks twins (Their Poppa Doug and their Daddy Tane are twins) and they surprised everyone when they arrived 10 weeks early. They showed us the meaning of strength and determination and overcame so many obstacles before being allowed to go home from the hospital.
On May 6 Milarn was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, commonly referred to as ALL. She was whisked away to Starship in Auckland with her Mummy (Cheryl) and began treatment immediately. Her Daddy (Tane) usually works 70 hour long weeks to provide for his family but has had to stop working for now in order to be by Milarn’s side. Makaia has recently re-joined the family in Auckland too. They are currently living at the Ronald McDonald House and at this stage it’s looking like a 6 month stay.
It is our hope to raise as much as possible to keep this family together and allow Cheryl and Tane to focus their energy on their girls without having to worry about the financial stresses, such as their mortgage and how to get by with the loss of income.
We will endeavour to keep everyone updated with how Milarn and her family are doing, as well as add links to fundraising events which are currently in the pipeline.
It is a big ask, but any donations would be gratefully accepted.
Much love,
The Lockley & Brooks Whanau
