Help for Sotiris

Hi there, my name is Daveena. I was born and raised in Taranaki. I now live and work in Hawera Taranaki. I love doing renovation work on my house, and helping look after my mother (who lives with me). Hanging with friends, and the average 38 year old stuff. I have a love of tramping, photography, and helping out my friends, especially when they are in a jam.

This is where I need your help...

I have a wonderful friend in Greece, Sotiris Filippou, that I have known now for 2 years who is in a real jam... I know Sotiris through mutual friends here in New Zealand, and from lots of photography groups that we are all a part of.

Unfortunately with the economic crisis happening in Greece, things there are really stressfull and extremely tight financially. My wonderful friend is a professional photographer and works with everything from scenes of beautiful landscapes, wonderful portrait, wedding and event photography. Sadly at the moment people in Greece are not hiring photographers because of extreme poverty and he is practically out of work. With thousands of people in Greece looking for work finding a job in nearly impossible.

Just recently he has been issued a huge water bill for an unoccupied apartment his aging father owns. The water company insists there must have been a leak in the line, it has been checked and there is no evidence of this. The bill is 2200 euro, and at todays rates that is about $3700 NZD. It is a massive responsibility on both of them, when at present they have no income.

My goal is to get together enough money to cover this huge bill with possibily some over for medical needs and food for them both.

Now I know there are hundreds of people in similar situations everywhere but this man is my good friend and I will do anything for my friends especially when I know they need help.

Please, if you can donate anything to help my wonderful friend out, that would be fantastic and every little bit helps. All donations will go directly to Sotiris and his father.
