Andy and Nicola Sumich and their three children Greta (8), Zoe (6) and Levi (3) are an awesome family living in Milford, Auckland. In September 2014, Andy was diagnosed with an advanced (stage four) bowel cancer that has spread to his liver and lungs.
Andy (41) has been undergoing chemotherapy to give him more time, but oncologists have said the reality is this type of cancer is aggressive and terminal.
Both Andy and Nic selflessly help others, and now we, their friends, would like to help them both as they spend precious time together as a family and as they look towards the future.
Nic is no longer able to work, as she faces health issues of her own, with having Multiple Sclerosis. So we are raising funds for this beautiful family in the hope we can make their everyday lives a little easier. The funds will go towards living costs, flights for the children to be with extended family and general 'disability costs' e.g hospital carparking. (And the odd bottle of pinot for Nicola) ;)
We are a group of friends who want to help Andy, Nicola and their children, at this tough time.

Thanks to those of you who joined us to celebrate Andy’s life. And especially those who travelled. We would also like to say thank to Shore Community Church, especially Reuben, Biffy and Bruce and the musicians. Many thanks to everyone for the fb messages, cards, flowers, donations to us or to hospice, prayers, meals, baking, wine, texts and support during this time. Nic & the kids xxx
