  • Dispersal of donations

    Hi all,

    a final note regarding your generosity as donors. If you have no objection the money donated will be used to pay for Uto's funeral, and for the airfares of Uto's Mother, Father and 4 siblings. The givealittle donations do not quite cover both areas, but some more donations were made directly to the Akaroa school-enough to cover the difference. Once again-thanks for the overwhelming acts of kindness.

  • Uto's sad passing

    Last night we lost Uto. His mother, some of his siblings, his Akaroa mum's Jo and Kay and his lovely girlfriend Carly were with him.

    His father and the rest of the family arrived this morning.

    Again they expressed their gratitude for all the acts of love and generosity shown to Uto and the family.

    The funeral will be held in Akaroa next Wednesday at 12 noon at the school gym.

    Uto will lie at the Onuku marae, 6 km south of Akaroa, from 4 pm on Tuesday.

    Uto and his family are totally humbled and greatful for the unbelievable generosity that has been shown on the Givealittle website, at the school office and at the Akaroa BNZ. A reflection of our wonderful community and how we all feel about Uto.

    Uto's father, Siaosi, arrived on Sunday,and other members of the family are also now able to travel to New Zealand in the near future.

    Uto starts his treatment this coming week.
