Help Abi Read

  • It's Happening!

There's definitely time and effort involved in mastering each word, but I can see that in time it will get faster and easier. But besides that, any approach to reading/spelling etc. with Dyslexia is going to involve hard work... it's how effective that work is that's the difference. Once a word is captured through this technique, that's it, Abi has that word! She won't have to do frustrating memory work over and over and over and still not have the word let alone the meaning. Davis Dyslexia approach is utilizing the gift of Abi's dyslexia and enabling her to become the reader/writer she wants and needs to be.

  • Plugging On

We're plugging on with the techniques, with a few understandable upended or missing bricks in our yellow road. But patience and perseverance will pave the remaining distance, be it great or small to Abi's reading goals. We have the tools and the bricks now (and one more day with Vanessa coming up). We just need to put in the work and it's a sure thing.

Thank you all for your interest and support :D

This is already a picture word but is the approach we Abi can now use to be able to read, spell, write, and understand non-picture words also, of which there are 219 'trigger words' (words with no auto-picture) out of the 230 most commonly used words in the English language!!!!

  • It's Going GREAT!!!!

We've had the bulk of Abi's sessions with wonderful tutor, Vanessa of Remarkable Minds. Vanessa says she has found Abi an amazing student, a very strong picture thinker and has embraced the approach beautifully.

This week I've been sitting in and picking up on the tools to go on with once our sessions are finished. I'm actually (ironically) lost for words on how great this is.

Thank you all for you wonderful support!
