Help Abi be able to read in spite of dyslexia.
Auckland
Abi is a bright, creative, almost 10 year old girl. Her ability to learn concepts, connect to ideas, and create are certainly special, yet she struggles to read even simple books. Abi has been diagnosed with Dyslexia, having excellent auditory processing, but a definite weakness in visual processing.
But Ronald Davis, who himself had to overcome the difficulties of Dyslexia without any help or understanding, has formulated a raft of techniques in a strengths based approach to helping those with Dyslexia use it's gifts, but handle it's difficulties.
While no effort is spared when it comes to raising Abi and her brother and sister, (homeschooling is part of that, and is an extra blessing for being able to work 1-1 with dyslexia and tailor her education), we simply do not have any money spare at the end of each week.
I'd like to get Abi in for her sessions by the end of May, so, please can you help?
I am Abi's mother, dedicated to the care and education of her and her brother and sister.

There's definitely time and effort involved in mastering each word, but I can see that in time it will get faster and easier. But besides that, any approach to reading/spelling etc. with Dyslexia is going to involve hard work... it's how effective that work is that's the difference. Once a word is captured through this technique, that's it, Abi has that word! She won't have to do frustrating memory work over and over and over and still not have the word let alone the meaning. Davis Dyslexia approach is utilizing the gift of Abi's dyslexia and enabling her to become the reader/writer she wants and needs to be.
