Five top New Zealand climbers from Auckland are striving to attend the Oceania Championships, New Caledonia October 2017 WE NEED YOUR HELP!!
Auckland
The Oceania Lead, Speed and Boulder Championships is the premier international event of the year for many New Zealand climbers. As the qualifying event for the Youth Olympic Games in 2018, our climbers will be competing in an internationally acclaimed and professional competition.
Auckland Sport Climbing Club has five athletes that have been accepted to represent New Zealand in the Oceania climbing competition which will be held in Noumea, New Caledonia, October 2017.
Being accepted is the start, now the real work begins. In addition to training hard, sending 4 athletes to compete will cost around $8000 and we need some help.
Each athlete is doing as much as they can to raise funds to attend the event. Through Give a Little, we are reaching out to anyone who is willing to support us and all funds raised will be divided between the five of us to help with our costs.
Every little bit helps.
For the three adult and two youth competitors, competing in this international competition is an amazing opportunity and experience despite the expense for the athletes and families supporting them. We are proud to represent New Zealand and can't wait to experience a competition of this caliber.
Thank you to those who support us!
The Athletes..

My name is Sarah Hay, I'm one of the athletes selected for the Oceania climbing team from Auckland. I also represent Climbing New Zealand on the Oceania Climbing Council along with David (President, CNZ) and we are excited to assist in the planning and execution of this championship.
Zane and I have facilitated this fundraising effort on behalf of the whole Auckland team and we hope to help everyone with the costs involved as we know it can be a financial struggle.
We can't wait to represent New Zealand and wear the national top at the Oceania Champs alongside our teammates, go team! :)
All funds raised will be divided equally among the five athletes. Funds will go towards flights, accommodation, travel costs, entry fees and uniforms.
We are working hard to pay for as much as we can ourselves but international events incur significant extra cost in addition to our current national and regional competitions.
We are so grateful for any help we receive and thank you so much for anything and everything! :) Love from the team, Sarah, Zane, Erica, Kyle and Alicia.
