68 year old Cecil Tait's nightmare begun in mid January 2015. Cecil started experiencing constant blurry vision, chronic headaches and dizzyness.
When Cecil ended up having a fall at home his wife took him straight to A&E at Kew hospital, Invercargill. They admitted him but ended up putting his medical condition down to him recently giving up alcohol.
Within a week Cecil's condition deteriorated. He could no longer walk, talk or move. He actually looked like he had a major stroke. Cecil went back to his GP who phoned for an ambulance straight away.
Urgent scans at Kew hospital revealed a Cerebral tumour growing on his brainstem. Cecil was then airlifted to Dunedin hospital to undergo emergency surgery. Sadly the cancer is terminal.
Since been diagnosed with cancer, Cecil has undergone radiation. He now has a blood clot on his lung which means he has to self inject himself two times daily in the stomach in hope to break the blood clot up.
If that's not enough for poor Cecil, sadly his lovely wife Denise has recently been diagnosed with dementia.
This whole situation means that Cecil and his wife Denise have to uplift their whole lives from a tiny little town in Lumdsen, Southland. To reside in Dunedin so Cecil can get the medical treatment he needs.
All donations made will go towards Cecil's final wish. He wishes that his wife will be relocated and set up in a new home in Dunedin. He wants her to be close to her family in Dunedin so she is well looked after. Also Cecil has no life insurance so all other funds will go towards funeral costs.
