Help for Adventurous Hugo

    Thanks to everyone who's donated for Hugo's Malta - Walk This Way trip, we are very excited to see what 3 intensive weeks hold for little Hugo. We know it will be tough on him but feel the results will outweigh this.

    Incredibly in 10 weeks we have raised $12k for the therapy, flights, insurance and rental car fees, now we are just short $3500 on this trip to go towards accommodation.

  • Help needed for follow up therapy to see more improvements in Hugo's ability to walk/

    After completing a new therapy program in Hamilton NZ in May through Walk This Way Ltd, we have seen a number of ways Hugo's function has changed.

    Another block of intensive therapy will be extremely beneficial for Hugo's rehabilitation.

    We now have the opportunity to have both trainers he met in Hamilton, be able to do the therapy in Malta this September.

    This means we need to urgently seek donations to get him over there.

    Any donation made over $5 is eligible for a tax donation.

  • Adventurous Hugo Advancing 7 weeks after SDR surgery

    Hugo’s surgery went very well and he is now back in New Zealand and doing well.

    THANK YOU to everyone who has helped with the journey so far. In order for Hugo to reach the FULL POTENTIAL that this operation can give him.

    Hugo now needs to have private physio, occupational therapy and speech lessons. An added bonus to that would be swimming and horse riding lessons.

    Hugo also needs an operation on his eyes and this will also need to be done privately.

    So we are back into the fundraising and we appeal to all Hugo's supporters to help him on the next step of the journey. Every small donation is a step towards helping Hugo so let’s see what we can do together.

  • Thank You and Surgery Time

    Thank you tremendously for your donation towards Hugos surgery costs in the USA. We have been very overwhelmed with everyone's support.

    Thursday 10.30am, St Louis time, NZ time Good Friday 4.30am Hugo will undergo the Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy and Partical Ventrical Rhizotomy surgery. We understand Hugo has a larger surgery time slot due to needing to have PVR.

    Hugo will also need to have alot of support to pay for private therapy in order for him to be able to succeed to the best of his ability.

    We are so grateful for everyone's donations to make this surgery become very real for Hugo in order for him to be a changed person for life.

    Hugo is booked in for an operation in USA with a pre-surgery date of 26 March 2018.

    We are trying to make plans, but are still very short of the funds required to pay for Hugo's hospital fees.

    Please help Hugo to make this next stage of his journey possible.

  • A few hours after having Botox Hugo is back to his nee k walker giving it a go unaided. This is the most he's done with no help.

  • Surgery Change of Date as Hugo still needs more money

    The surgery has been delayed as we need to raise around $120,000 for his operation in USA. We are doing great with the fundraising and we thank everyone who is helping - let's keep going and make this happen for Hugo.
