Julian and Astrid are a retired couple both suffering from serious chronic illness. They are unable to cover their mortgage and living costs

Hawke's Bay

Astrid fell ill with Vasculitis in mid 2015. Vasculitis is a life-threatening autoimmune disease of the arteries. This has affected her kidneys and heart, leaving her too weak for physical work or to continue with her profession as a speech and drama teacher.

Julian has been suffering from Prostate Cancer since 2009. In 2016 it had spread into his bones leaving him very weak. This affects him in his profession as a music teacher.

Their recovery will be be long term.

Use of funds

The Funds will be used to cover medical costs, living costs and to help pay off their mortgage of 90,000.

Since their respective illnesses they have been struggling financially and are in danger of losing their house.
