HELP FOR MIKES & HIS FAMILY
12 year old Mikes had to endure a 9 hour surgery to help remove an aggressive Cancer of a Brain & Spine tumor called Medulloblastoma.

PLEASE READ - we need your help!! Every little bit helps and we would be eternally grateful.
Mikes had been diagnosed with an Aggressive Brain & Spine Cancer which is called Medulloblastoma.
He endured a 9 hour surgery to help remove this on 8th April '16. At this moment he has finished his 6 weeks or Radiotherapy and just finished his 4th and final round of Chemotherapy
He needed Radiation & Chemotherapy to combat and we believe cure him of this henus Cancer. All of this is done in Auckland and we live in Napier.
We have chosen to put Mikes on a clinical trial and they are doing extra tests and scans as well as introducing another drug which hopefully will stop him from going deaf.
Unfortunately we have realised Cancer does not just effect one person but the whole family.
It has put a huge financial burden on us as we wanted to be with Mikes. We are ever so grateful for all the generous donations so far, but as you will understand this doesn't stretch too far.
The bills did not disappear and are we are slowly trying to get on top of them
Apart from the stress and worry about Mikes (which is the most important thing in our lives) the financial worry is the last thing we need to be stressing about right now.
If you could bring yourselves to just Give A Little we would be ever so thankful.

I am Kylie, Mikes devastated Mother trying to hold it all together. We are lucky to be given a haven at Ronald McDonald House and couldn't do this without this amazing place being available to us.
Although it allows us to be with our son which is the most important thing in my life right now there is the continuous worry about our financial situation which is at a complete stop.
We live in Napier and I work as a crane driver on the ships when they come into port, which isn't at set times so I can not commit to working as I need to be here in Auckland with my son.

Hi Everyone - Wow what a Year it has been. Literally feel like we have been to hell and back. Luckily it feels like there is a light at the end of our tunnel which is slowly getting brighter.
Mikes is gradually putting on weight and not vomiting as much as he had been. He had an MRI which showed some fluid in the cavity where the tumour was removed but they aren't too worried about this at this stage. We are still awaiting results on his Lumber Punch and as we have heard nothing we are hopeful that no news is good news.
Mikes is going to go back to school after the Easter break so hopefully this isn't too daunting for him as it is his 1st year at High School and he missed last year completely.
