Selected into NZ Under 23 Rowing Team to compete in Bulgaria in July at the Under 23 World Rowing Championships.

Waikato

Recently I have been selected into the NZ Under 23 Rowing Team to represent NZ in the U23 Women's Lightweight Single Scull. In July we travel to compete in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, at the Under 23 World Rowing Championships! This is a hugely exciting opportunity for me and brings me a step closer to achieving my goal of representing NZ at the 2020 Olympic Games. This campaign will be my debut competing internationally in the Lightweight Women's Single Scull event, where I am aiming to medal. To accomplish this goal lots of training and dedication is required. I train 2-3 times per day, six days per week. I am very lucky to have Lake Karapiro, a world-class rowing venue, as my training hub. I also feel blessed having an extremely supportive network of people from Rowing NZ, Tauranga Rowing Club and Waikato RPC, my family and my friends backing me each and every day. I have established this page to help me raise funds for this Under 23 campaign as the tour and travel expenses are quite high. Your support is VERY MUCH appreciated!!

Courtney Rennie's involvement (page creator)

I am very invested in this cause! Each day I am up by 5:30a.m. to train on the water at Lake Karapiro for a couple of hours. Some days we have a second morning session, hitting the gym at the Rowing NZ High Performance Center. I will then bike home to my flat in Cambridge, shower, eat, have a coffee, eat some more and then bike back out to the Lake for the final row of the day in the afternoon. Eat-sleep-row-coffee-REPEAT! (With some part-time study toward my Social Science degree) --- that is what I live and breathe, as this is what is required to be successful on the world stage! This jam-packed schedule and ensuring I get adequate recovery time, makes holding-down a job nearly-impossible! I am very lucky to have supportive people around me, and hope you are inspired to contribute to this cause, as your support is appreciated beyond words!

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
