Hi my name is Hamish Miller and I have been selected to captain the Junior Black Fins at the World Surf Lifesaving Championships.
Bay of Plenty
Hi. I am a 17 year old Year 13 student at Bethlehem College and have recently had the honour of being selected to be the captain of the New Zealand Junior Black Fins Surf Lifesaving team.
I am passionate about honing my skills in the surf to constantly improve as a lifeguard and a sports competitor. I have been involved in surf lifesaving since I was a junior nipper aged 5 years. I first began competing at National age group level from the age of 9 and have been competing ever since. I have represented the New Zealand Youth team before at the 2015 International surf challenge. I train all year round fitting in swimming, running, board and surf ski sessions twice a day so I will be able to be competitive on the world stage. Making the most of this opportunity comes at a significant cost of around $9000 as it is fully user pays. I would be grateful and hugely appreciative for any support you are able to provide to help me achieve my goals.
