Helping fund Trexo Robotic Walker therapy & specialist rehabilitation support for Elyse, a 12yr old living with severe physical disability.

Waikato, Taupo District

Elyse was just 2½ years old when she was diagnosed with DIPG, a rare and aggressive brain tumour. Today, at 12 years old, she is still here — something that once felt impossible. While the tumour has left Elyse with severe physical disabilities, she is cognitively present, aware, and full of determination. Her body, however, struggles to respond to what her mind asks of it.

Over the years, Elyse’s family and community have worked tirelessly to support her health, comfort, and quality of life. Every gain matters. Every movement matters.

Following recent leg surgery, Elyse is completing physiotherapy as part of her recovery. This period is a critical window where consistent, intensive movement therapy can help protect and build on the progress she has made. Without the right support, there is a real risk that these hard-won gains could be lost.

The Trexo Robotic Walker is an advanced rehabilitation tool that guides the legs through precise, repeatable walking patterns, helping retrain the connection between the brain and body. For Elyse, access to the Trexo is not about miracles — it’s about strength, mobility, dignity, and independence.

With your support, we hope to fund Trexo therapy and specialist rehabilitation so Elyse can continue moving forward. Every donation, big or small, brings this life-changing therapy closer. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is just as meaningful.

Thank you for standing with Elyse.

Victoria Beacock's involvement (page creator)

I am Elyse’s mum’s close friend and have helped organise fundraising for Elyse since her diagnosis. Over the years, our community’s support has made an enormous difference to her quality of life.

Use of funds

Funds will go towards Trexo Robotic Walker therapy, specialist physiotherapy and clinical oversight, and associated costs needed to ensure Elyse can access ongoing, intensive rehabilitation.
