    More great news!! The immunotherapy treatment is doing its job!

    The results of Garth's latest MRI are very encouraging. The disease is not growing! This is fantastic news because it means the treatment is working.

    And now it's time to focus on raising the $18,000 needed for dose 4 so that we can eradicate the disease completely. This is due in a few short weeks.

    We are in incredibly grateful for all of the giving that has happened up until this point. But the job is not quite done so if you able to contribute financially toward this next dose that would be fantastic.

    Great news (Part 1) Garth is experiencing way less pain and discomfort, he has been able to sleep through the night and is having to slow himself down because he is feeling so much better. THIS IS GREAT NEWS.

    Great news (Part 2) Because of the generosity of so many wonderful humans we have enough funds to finance the third dose of immunotherapy!! This means we have one remaining large financial outlay to to find for the forth dose. THIS IS GREAT NEWS.

    Garth, Elaine and the family feel extremely humbled by your generosity. While the battle to fight cancer is horrible, the kindness and care expressed by others is treasure in the darkness. Thank you so much.

  • One Happy Chappy!

    Week 5 after the first immunotherapy dose, Garth has been able to sleep on the right side of his face for the first time in 18 long months - with no pain nor discomfort from his ear! This is amazing! It seems like the treatment, amazing medical care, supportive community and positive focus are being used by The Creator to fight the cancer.

    Next Monday, Garth will receive his second dose and while we've been blown away by the generosity of so many, it's time to knuckle down and raise the finance for the remaining treatment. So if you are able to contribute please follow the donation link or spread the word... or both.

  • Just about at $40,000 - INCREDIBLE!!

    How amazing are you all are? In a few short weeks we've been able to raise very close to $40,000 - thanks to your fabulous generosity. This means that the second dose of immunotherapy can go ahead at the appropriate time.

    On other great news, Garth went to the hospital dentist for a checkup and they found, after prising his mouth open, that one of his molars needed urgent attention. After cleaning it out and killing all the bugs the pain, which we'd assumed was all cancer related, eased considerably and he was able to open his mouth a lot wider. (Thus the surprised open mouth pic 😂)

    Again, thank you for being so generous. We've still got a ways to go but this battle is winnable.

  • It's Hard to Keep a Good Man Down

    As many of you know, Garth has been an Associate Principal at Point England School for over 20 years!! What you may not have picked up on is that in all that time he has never had a sick day!!

    So finally, while he is receiving treatment, he has wisely decided to use some of his over 200 sick days owing, to look after himself.

    But, as you can see by the photo, it's hard to keep a good man down so he decided to build a door for us. And while his body is only able to cope with a couple of hours here and there, the finished product is amazing!!

    What an amazing and overwhelming week this has been! After just one week we have enough funds to start the immunotherapy treatment! This means Garth will be able to begin the first round of treatment this coming Monday! AMAZING!

    Garth and Elaine, and the family, want to thank you so much for your generosity and kindness. We are extremely grateful.
