Help ease the financial stress, so that Manu can enjoy the rest of his time with whanau and friends!
Manawatu / Whanganui
Kiaora all,
Arohamai - have never set up one of these before.
Manu (55) who currently lives with his son Tyrone (Tyke) & Daughter in law Pam & their 3 children have received some devastating news, after following up with a Dr appointment pre Covid lockdown around a lump in his neck he has then gone for other tests which have led to the following after a long and stressful diagnosis process for them all.
Manu has been diagnosed with Terminal adenocarcinoma (lung cancer) which has spread to lymph nodes and his neck, also H pylori gastritis which is affecting his digestive system due to tumour compression. He has sadly not been offered chemotheraphy, he has been offered radiation as this may reduce pain but cannot cure his cancer, however at this stage Manu is leaning against this. Manu is now in the care of his whanau at home with the support of hospice.
Manu has great support from his whanau and friends. He values his family above all else and hopes to enjoy as many quality days with his whanau & especially his moko whom he loves dearly, As a whanau they are all taking each day as it comes and dealing with whatever they need to in that moment to the very best of their ability.
His daughter in law has ceased her work to care for Manu and is doing an amazing job of this - while she would not want praise for this it is a factor in why any donations to this page would be appreciated as this young family will now be down an income - in saying that they will not have it any other way. Manu is home where he wants & needs to be. Manu has a narrowed oesophagus due to tumour compression. He is able to swallow fluids but not food any longer.
Any donations will help through the days ahead of them and will also assist Manu's whanau when the worst happens & they have Tangi expenses to cover.
I hope I have explained the situation clearly enough - any questions please ask and I will try and answer them for you.
Nga mihi,
We are friends of Manu's son & daughter in law and lucky enough for us we have got the honour of knowing this beautiful man. We know how much of a shock this has come to them all & just want to do what we can to help them all through.
Anything Manu will need through the rest of his illness & also to help his whanau give him the send off he deserves when that time does come.
Thankyou all!!! 25 August 2020
Kiaora,
Manu, Tyke, Pam & whanau want to Thankyou all very much for your donations towards helping Manu. At the moment we do not have much to update in regards to his health. He is the same, hospice has him sorted and comfortable being cared for at home by Pam who is doing a wonderful job. Manu has been able to attend some of his moko's sport which has made him so happy - he is happiest surrounded by the kids. He really wants you all to know your support is appreciated by him.
We have a friend who has donated his hair to be shaved to the highest bidder this Friday - proceeds will be added to this page.
Also there is going to be a rugby match played between 2 of Manus favourite teams. Looking like the 12th so in a couple of weeks. This will be held in Pahiatua.
A huge Thankyou once again. Will update again at some stage soon.
Thankyou to you all.
Kia Kaha our Manu ❤️❤️❤️
