Helping Hands for Haley and her family

  • Funeral details for Haley

      1 May 2024

Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service for Haley, to be held at

Bethlehem Baptist Church - 90 Bethlehem Rd, Bethlehem, Tauranga, on Thursday 2nd May 2024 at 1.30pm. (For those not based in NZ please remember to calculate what day/time that will be for you, ie America will be May 1st and your local time zone)

There will be a short reception on-site immediately following the service.

The service will be live streamed and the link will be added to this post when it becomes available so please remember to check back here.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Waipuna Hospice in Haley’s name. The love, care and attention they provided not only to Haley but to the entire family during this time was outstanding and without donations this couldn’t be possible for people in need.

    UPDATE :

Below is the link to the service tomorrow for those who are unable to attend in person. Please for New Zealand residents remember that this is tomorrow Thursday 2nd May at 1.30pm (Bethlehem Baptist Church) with a short reception to follow. If you are elsewhere in the world please calculate your time zones accordingly

If you wish to say a few words at the service there is a portion dedicated to this. If you are outside of NZ and wish this to happen please get your words to me asap today (ideally in next 2 hours) and we will try and get them included.

  • We say goodbye to our darling Haley

      27 April 2024
    Main image

On Friday 26th April at 10pm our beloved Haley passed away at Waipuna Hospice

in the arms of her darling husband Tony and with her precious Mom Kathryn by her side and her sisters listening in and praying

Words can’t describe how much we will miss Haley, the way she lit up every room with her big smile and infectious laugh, her cheeky banter and quick retort, her pure and infectious love of life, her ability to always say yes to adventure, her love for everyone around her and the compassion and empathy she showed us all. We are all better people for having known, loved and been loved by our ray of sunshine Haley.

Our deepest condolences and love go out to Tony, Noah, Lauren, Rhys & Millie. Jeff & Kathryn, Abbey & Marnie and their families. Rose & Loren, Jeremy and their families at this time.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone for your love and support, your prayers and memories that have given everyone strength over not just these past 2 weeks but since the beginning of this journey for Haley and Tony and their family. And to the team at Waipuna Hospice for their loving care of Haley and her family over these past weeks, they are angels.

Fly high our darling girl, you fought the most extraordinary battle right until the last moments, rest now wrapped in the arms of Christ with love and light from all those who loved you both here on earth and in heaven.

It’s not a goodbye dear Haley it’s a see you again soon x

  • Haley has been moved to hospice now.

      24 April 2024

Today the hard decision was made to move Haley to hospice and this happened this afternoon. This was not a decision made lightly given Haley’s wishes, but it was the best decision to ensure she had all the medical support as her needs changed.

Kathryn is by her darling daughter’s side and Tony is wrapping his smallest babies in so much love at home.

Noah sadly had to return home today which wasn’t easy, and Tony’s mum will begin her journey here and be here as soon as she can.

Please respect the families privacy at this time as the end becomes nearer for our Ray of sunshine. Their energies are on Haley.

Keep everyone in your prayers and thoughts now, shine your light over Haley and share the love to her that she showed each and everyone of us.

At this stage this will be the last update for now to allow the family privacy in these final moments 🤍

Please if you can, or anyone you know can spare a little please donate or share this page so we can help relieve some financial pressure for Tony to allow him and the children to grieve without the worry of costs.

      17 April 2024

Today we are pleased to say that Haley’s mum has made it to her bedside and what a beautiful moment that was.

Tomorrow dear Noah arrives and will also be by her side.

This is just the boost that Haley needed as she tirelessly continues her fight.

Haley celebrated her birthday on Monday. She turned 38. It was a lovely day and she managed a small time up to be sung Happy birthday and see the party the kids had made for her. Happy memories

Plans are being made and Hospice have been wonderful in their support and what they can provide for both Haley and Tony for the children too.

Haley and Tony’s Pastor came to the home to pray over Haley and this gave her much joy.

We thank each and everyone of you for your generous donations, we are on the way to being able to provide Haley the send off that she deserves, but we do hope to provide the family with much needed funds so that Tony can take time off work to grieve and support the children as they grieve also. So if you have any means to be able to spread the word and share this page near and far we really would appreciate it. It takes just 1 minute to share to your socials, or maybe you know people who may have a larger following that may find it in their hearts to share also. Thank you x

To Haley and Jane and the rest of the family. My memories of Haley are skipping up and down the steps in her uniform in Nanjing. China-. And Haley, your parents seemed to be just warm radiant lights of love to everyone around them including myself. Hard to understand things like this but God is a sovereign God. I will pray that you are surrounded with his love. That he take mercy on any pain you are in. That you may feel the peace that passes all understanding with no guilt, no regret, no anger- just peace. So much love and prayers to you, in HIS name AMEN
