Paddy was the victim of a serious accident whilst visiting Dunedin, NZ. He and his Australian-based family needs our support.

Otago

Patrick Harding (Paddy) was seriously injured following a fall in Dunedin, New Zealand. He remains in Dunedin hospital in a serious condition, with his wife Carly at his bedside.

Paddy is a much-loved husband, father, son, brother and mate within his large, tight-knit family. Paddy's entire family, including his two children, are based in Australia and are devastated at having to deal with a loved member of their family being in an overseas country, whilst seriously hurt.

Paddy also has many, many friends that have also been affected by his tragic accident. He is a hugely respected member of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and he was a playing member of the Australian Police Rugby Union (APRU) side that defeated the South Island (NZ) Police Rugby side in Dunedin the day before his fall.

He made an impact with all of those that he came in contact with in Dunedin and is one of life's great guys.

There will be significant financial impediments for Paddy, Carly, and their families and this page is created to try and support them in a practical way, by alleviating at least some of those financial pressures.

Specifically, it is hoped that funds can be raised to assist the financial burden of ensuring Paddy and Carly's children can be with their Dad in Dunedin, as well helping other family members to be here with Paddy, whilst in support of Carly.

Use of funds

The funds raised on this page will be used to assist the Harding family with the financial burden of costs to get Paddy and Carly's children and family to New Zealand, and ensure that family and financial support is ongoing for Carly whilst she remains in Dunedin with Paddy.

It is also expected that there will be be long-term recovery and rehabilitation requirements for Paddy and this will also have financial implications on his family that any donation to this this page will assist with.

Page Info. Update   1 May 2017

Hi everyone.

It has been an overwhelming response to Paddy's page since it was set-up yesterday, thank you to everyone who has contributed!

I know that there has been some queries, especially from Australia, about the 'warning' pop-up that has been occurring. This has been due to the fact that the page had not been 'moderated' by the "Give-a-Little" team and has taken a little longer due to the fact that it was set up over a weekend, outside of business hours.

We have had to improvise with some smaller details today (verifying NZ bank account details etc.) but otherwise we're now fully 'moderated' and the pop-up should no longer occur!

Thanks again for all of your support and love for Paddy, Carly, their children and all of the Harding family ...... you guys are all amazing!

Cheers.

Matt
