I have been offered an opportunity to gather data for Wouter Van Hoven, Director of Centre for Wildlife Management at the University of Pretoria and a world renowned conservationist based in RSA. So on February 28th I'll be heading back to Africa to gather data necessary for elephant relocations at various nature reserves in South Africa. Hopefully this can aid greater conservation efforts addressing the current decline in elephant numbers. During my stay I will also be helping the onsite anti-poaching team with patrols to keep the elephants and rhinos safe at night.

Elephants need a lot of space to roam and, as a consequence, I will have to provide my own transport to be able to conduct the research. I have been offered a significantly reduced rate to hire a car, however over the course of three months this still adds up, to around $2000 to be exact. So this fundraising will be going towards this, which will allow me not only to gather my data, but also provide a means to escape quickly if things go pear shaped.
