I have been privileged enough to be offered a full scholarship to play Division I rugby and go to university in the United States
Auckland
After a process lasting several months I was privileged enough to receive a full-tuition scholarship to be a student-athlete in Iowa, USA. I am aiming to succeed at the highest levels in both the classroom and on the rugby field. I would be looking to obtain a 'Doctor of chiropractic' degree whilst playing Division I rugby. The problem I have is, I need to earn a few college credits before entering the Chiropractic program. I have gained some credits at home at the Auckland University of Technology whilst studying a Bachelor of Health Science, but also need to complete courses at community college in America. Whilst studying at community college, my board and tuition would not be covered as I would not be studying under my scholarship. I have been requested to arrive in Iowa in either January or July next year to help them compete for a State title and have roughly about this time to fund-raise enough money to get there. I have the full financial support of my family and parents, but I do believe I may have to rely on the generosity of friends and strangers to get there. I know this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and am willing to do anything to take full advantage of it. As a young New Zealander who has never left the Pacific, I am determined to move halfway across the world to add my own piece of history to one of the oldest Rugby programs in America.
