Kait needs help with her treatment costs and shortfalls not met by ACC after suffering TWO medical misadventures/failed surgeries...
Auckland
Kait has been in severe and constant pain after back surgery in October 2013 which triggered an original nerve injury from chest surgery. ACC are assisting but are unable to cover full treatment costs for pain medication, doctors visits, or contribute to her Student Loan, and overdraft which she ran up in the months before ACC accepted responsibility for her case. As she had graduated from AUT with a Criminology degree in 2011 she had only been working for the police for 18 months when she was injured. She is bedridden most of the day and takes PreGablin,Morphine and anti-depressants to cope. She has gone from a happy, positive hardworking National Intelligence Officer with the Police to a depressed and broken person struggling to cope with constant pain throughout the left side of her body. Financial stress is contributing to her depression, along with the frustration of dealing with the ongoing ACC policies and processes which are now handled by her sister, Nicky.
I'm Nicky, Kait's sister and help her with her day to day activities. I see the distress she is in besides the physical pain, which is caused purely by financial stress. This is something we can hopefully change for her, with the generosity of the public.
