Organic/Permaculture grown fruit and vegetables Earth buildings Sustainable living Teaching methods to live with the land

Nationwide

We are going to set up this magic piece of 20 acre land to be a place of growing healthy food for people (in the wider community) and at the same time teaching others how to live sustainable with our mother, Papatuanuku.

You may ask yourself, why is growing healthy, organic food so important? To overly processed food, to much sugar and salt in foods and residues of highly carcinogenic chemicals are the cause of most diseases today. That's why we believe eating healthy food is very important for all of us!

At the moment me, myself and I taking around 8000 pine trees out and replacing them with natives as shelter and planting an orchard plus vegetable gardens. This is the most physical work without machinery right now. We also looking after our 10acre native bush area with a broad variety of species like Totara, Rimu, Kaekatea, Matai etc. Conservation is very important for us! Especially since we are kinda living in an Oasis of what is pretty much a green desert out here since the Totara forests got cut down back in the days... So yeah, conserving this treasure is also what we do.

We will build a lot of earth buildings (as part of workshops how to...) to host helpers and those who want to stay and learn how to build, plant and live more sustainable. My wife is busy in the meantime to raise our two beautiful son's. So she got a full time job as well :)

We will need any available help possible! And yeah, unfortunately it's money we need too...

Most of things can be done with very little but some things are quite pricey around here...

We have almost spend our entire savings with the purchase of the land and the infrastructure. Now we rely on your generous help to accomplish what we started about a year ago.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause. I hope that there will be some interesting varieties, e.g. perhaps a small number of damson plum trees; and clean air. Best wishes.
