Help fund Matt Sutherland to go to Spain to represent New Zealand at the World Kickboxing Association championships.
Canterbury
Matt is a winning kickboxer invited to represent New Zealand at the WKA (World Kickboxing Association) championship in Spain, November 2015. As the WKA championships are an amateur event, competitors are not paid for the event so Matt must fund the trip himself.
Matt is a skilled martial artist and kickboxer. At his young age, he has numerous accomplishments including: 1st Degree Black-belt Zen Do Kai with Sempai Rank and is the recipient of the Bushido Cross Award. In his kickboxing career, he has 5 wins from 8 fights, with 4 being TKO
To travel to Spain, Matt will need a trainer to go with him to support him and be part of his corner crew during his fights when he is there. The total cost for each person attending is $6000.
This is a massive achievement for New Zealand to send a fighter of this calibre to the WKA world championships. We need to get some funds to send Matt there!
Matt is part of the Proactive Martial Arts Dojo in Christchurch. Fighters in the dojo are supported by PUNCH (Proactive United Charitable Hombu), a non profit group run by senior Proactive students.
PUNCH promotes martial arts and organises fundraising and events that support learning and development of fighters, as well as helping them to fund travel to compete in events.
We want to see Matt make it to Spain to represent the best of New Zealand kickboxing on the world stage.
PUNCH: Proactive United Charitable Hombu. We are an incorporated society set up to assist in the physical, social, and mental development of martial arts students at Proactive Martial Arts Dojos.
We run seminars, trips to study Muay Thai in Thailand, as well as supporting fighters with sponsorship and fundraising to help cover the costs of travelling and competing in kickboxing, Muay Thai, and martial arts events.
