Help Melita Beat Cancer

  • Last round of chemo completed!

    Melita has completed last round of chemo which is great news. On a less positive note Melita has recently had a CT scan which has shown up a .5cm growth in her lung. They can not yet biopsy the growth as it needs to be 1cm in size to do this. She will be having another CT scan in january to see if this has grown. Melita is having a colonoscopy on the 24th nov we are hoping this will show the bowel is clear of cancer. Another thank you to all the support and donations as this has enabled Melita to take this time to concentrate on treatment and her health. Melita is due to return to work on jan 11th, a new year a new start and hopefuly

    good health too.

    Melita would like to give a massive thank you to all the friends family and unknown supporters who have been so incredibly generous its been overwhelming to see how many people have helped. All of your generosity has taken the pressure away of having to return to work during this journey allowing me to concentrate on my health and family which has made this experience

    so much more bearable words cant describe how grateful I am. Thank you thank you thank you!

  • Long overdue update :)

    Melita is doing well at the moment, although when she hit the half way mark she had an allergic reaction to the drugs so they had to stop the drugs she was on and start a new regime which is going really well as it has eased the nausea. The new regime is a three week cycle where she has a lower dose of the drug twice a day over fourteen days then a week off then starts over again. Melita is getting her first CT scan in two and a half weeks fingers crossed for a good result. When her chemo finishes at the end of november she will have another colonoscopy as part of the screening and all going well will have the porta'cath removed.

  • Round 4 and 5 nearly half way !!!!!!

    Round 4 and 5 out of the way in round four having a bad reaction to the chemo drugs they reduced the dose by 25 % making the side effects a little more bearable. Melita has just been concentrating on each fortnight as it comes although next treatment marks the halfway point awesome it finally makes the end seem visible!!

    I just want to thank everyone for their generosity the well wishes and prayers we as a family are feeling very blessed by all the support.

  • Chemo round 3 one step closer!!

    Round 3 of chemo and doing well I am so proud of my little sister being so brave. I would like to thank all the generous support from all the amazing people that have donated through this site it has taken a huge amount of the stress off Melita and her family in this hard time. We are feeling truly blessed by all your support.

    Melita has had round two of chemo and doing ok, keeping a positive attitude and working through the side effects of the treatment.

  • Treatment 1 done and dusted

    Melita had her first treatment on 19th may, handling it like a trooper has struggled a little although having more good days than bad.

    I just want to thank so many people so far for their contributions it is so touching the generosity received from friends family and amazing people unknown to us for who have donated through this amazing site.

    Thank you very humbling!
