Looking for help to publish books designed for young dyslexic children.

Hawke's Bay

Dyslexia is a learning disorder that affects the way the brain works. The left side of the brain processes language and decodes words, allowing people to understand the letters and what orders they should be, within the words. However, a child with dyslexia finds the letters often become muddled, and this causes difficulties in decoding, which may result in the child falling behind in their learning. In 2007 I was diagnosed with dyslexia thanks to EIT, But from the age of 6 I remember feeling dumb. Like I was different, it took me longer to learn things and longer to memorise anything. I still can not spell and I still do not know my times tabel but I never gave up on teaching my self to read.

My dad has dyslexia and his dad had dyslexia and one of my kids will be dyslexic as well. I would like to be able to help my child and other children to come not go through the hard times that my self and my mum had to go through to get help.

I have a really good connection to the process of designing and writing these books. There are very few resources for young children with dyslexia.

This is the age group my books series aims to target, as it would work particularly well for all beginner reader. The use of my books assists with learning either at home, or can be used in schools in a group reading situation, with all children using the same books.

A child with dyslexia is more likely to feel comfortable reading in a small group situation, if the book is specifically designed to meet their needs.

Dyslexia is not a disability it’s a different way of looking at things and learning.

Just like Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, Steven Spielberg, who all have the gift of dyslexia. Using the help of any parent and or schoolteachers, we can help a child work through the hardest part of dyslexia with these books, which will allow the child to embrace the true gift of dyslexia later in life.

Once i get my first goal which is $840 i can begin with the first stage of publishing and receive my copy right and my own USBN number which means i will be able to show the world my character and my design for the book.

I have the company Xlibris who wish to publish my book. For 5000 they will print on demand books around the world. the money goes towards :

• process book orders and fulfill them

• distribute your book

• indefinite availability

• lifetime support

• marketing support
