We've all been there. You go in for a WOF (warrant of fitness) then the price of 'surprise' work needed done more than doubles

Bay of Plenty

A month ago I took my beloved 1994 Holden VR Senator in to get new head gaskets, new radiator and a W.O.F done. Next minute needs floor pan plated/welded, battery tray plated/welded, exhaust pipe replaced, exhaust mounts replaced, transmission mount replaced, brake calipers rebuilt, new pads and rotors machined. New oils, coolants, seals hoses, nut, bolts etc and then labour costs of course!

I've owned for 14 years and this year she turns 21. I've always looked after her and never had any major problems but this year we moved to Tauranga for new start, new environment and with moving costs etc, we don't have a lot of spare cash.

Originally quoted $2300, and I have paid $1900 so far but now with all extras just to get W.O.F done so I can register it, it is now $4300 and I just want my car done and back home as they wont let me take without total payment as I am a new customer just having moved here. No worries I get it, but it's our only car and we've been walking/car pooling to work etc.

Please help get my Holden home and any extras over my car costs I will pledge back to another worthy cause.

Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this. Cheers
