We recently did a tour of Sri Lanka and Nisal was our driver. He was severely affected by the floods and his car was badly damaged.

Nisal was on his way back to us in Galle from a funeral that he had to attend and was caught in the floods in Tangalle. Hi car was submerged in the waters and very damaged. He was also stranded in Tangalle unable to return home for a week. It will take weeks for any insurance claim to be processed. In the meantime he has lost his main source of income until his car is fixed. He has a young family to look after and this is a very hard time for him.

I am doing this because he really looked after us on our trip and it is painful to see someone suffer so much in such a short space of time. He was a kind and generous man who deserves some sunshine in his life.

Use of funds

The funds will be used to compensate him for income lost during the period, pay for his out of pocket expenses while he was stranded in Tangalle and go towards his insurance excess. Any additional money will be given to him to allow him to upgrade his car which was pretty old.
