Help Get Portia to U18 Aus Lacrosse Nationals!

My gorgeous daughter Portia has been chosen to represent Auckland in the Australian U18 Lacrosse Nationals in April! So very exciting !!

She received her confirmation email to confirm she was accepted into the team last night, she was so excited until she read how much it costs to go...and I could see her heart sink and tears welling...but she held it together! I am so proud of her.

She knows I would jump the moon/ battle a spider (totally arachnophobic here) to be able to get her to this competition, but being a single mum there just isn't enough spare funds to pull together in such a short time frame. If I had a year I probably could do it! For the tournament, it is required that Portia have a FIL approved (Federation of International Lacrosse) stick, which she does not currently have. Extra to this, her boots and sneakers are in dire need for replacement. A replacement I have been procrastinating due to affordability, but are now needed as they are completely worn out and cause aches and pains - i was hoping these would last till the end of the club season (4 more weeks) and give me time till next season. Portia is also very determined to do some fundraising for herself!

I know some think this isn't a worthy cause but to her it is! She loves what she gains from Lacrosse and so do I ...its an amazing family to belong to with amazingly supportive friends and parents. Teaching her the values of working hard and striving for what you want in life...setting goals and working towards them.
