Tara is undergoing treatment for a nasty cancer and is having a difficult time.
Auckland
Tara came to NZ 10 years ago from South Africa with her husband and 4 children, she is now a single mother, who a year ago was diagnosed with a nasty cancer which involved operations, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. This is still on going.
Tara has been very positive and continuously looks on the bright side of life when she is with people, however she did mention that she has financial worries which typical of her, concerns others, not herself. Tara has not been able to work during this time and her daughter is back at school doing art which involves a lot of expenses for materials which Tara can only pay by drip feeding. Tara was lucky her mother could come to NZ for a short time while she was in hospital and mostly sat with her holding her hand and it was a great comfort to have her at her side, however there was a tinge of sadness as Tara would rather have shared her life experiences in NZ with her mother as it was her first and only visit to New Zealand.
To add to Tara's difficulties shortly before Christmas their home was entered while they were sleeping and laptops and phones and other electronic equipment was stolen. Your help will enable her to pay the excess and then claim the cost of replacement from her insurance company. Tara is a woman who has always helped others and now it would be wonderful if others can help her in a small way. The goal is set at a modest $2000 as this will enable her to buy the materials for her daughter's school art projects, pay insurance excess and generally cover the extra expenses that are mounting up as a result of her illness.
We are Tara's friends concerned about her welfare and would like to do what we can to help her. By combining our contributions we can do more collectively than as individuals.
