Hi there! :) I'm a 21 year old student studying an undergraduate degree in sustainability at AUT. Part of sustainability is to create an environment where society has a renewable source of food and water, and this is why I am asking for your help. I plan to go to Cambodia as a volunteer for a month at the end of the year to help families and animals in desperate need. While I am there, I will build: houses, schools, farms, renewable water supplies while also teaching the children new skills, english and helping the animals and marine coast.
In order to go to Cambodia, I need to make $3596, while I don't ever expect to make all of this, it would be great just to have some of it donated! (https://www.rovolunteers.com/Volunteer-Cambodia-Scuba-Diving-and-elephant-Program.htm), that will cover 4 weeks of accommodation, food, materials for the houses/schools/farms, materials for the coral reefs, donations to the Elephant sanctuary and food for the animals.
There's a quote that I love that says: "What happens if the cure for cancer is trapped inside the mind of someone who can't afford an education?", through your donations I will help supply these families in need with a second chance, and the children with skills that will forever help them.
Thank you! :)
My involvement in this cause is quite simply I am a volunteer. When I am at the Elephant Sanctuary, I will be making houses and schools from scratch, trying to help rehabilitate the animals in need (Elephants, Dogs, Monkeys etc.), planting new food sources and teaching the children English. When I am on the Island, I will be taught how to dive in order to clean up the coral reefs to help the marine life. Doing this creates a sustainable and renewable food source for the people on the island! When I am not diving, I will again be also making schools, houses and also be making a water source to contain a years supply of clean drinking water, which is essential on the Island.
First update! 24 March 2016
Thanks so much to all the kind and generous people that have donated so far, I was not expecting this kind of response. I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate it and it is going to such a good cause, truly. I have attached a document showing proof of my volunteer work and exactly what I will be doing and where the money will be going.
Much love to you all, and thank you thank you thank you once again xxx
