My younger brother toby has been diagnosed again for the second time with cancer, not even 2 years ago my brother went into remission after been diagnosed with osteosarcoma at the age on 17 in his left leg after a bone transplant and a grueling 9 months of chemotherapy and my mother giving up work to be there we thought we had won the battle. But my brother has now been diagnosed with it again but this time it is in his spine and ribs his 20th birthday is coming up and would be nice to spend it as a small gathering for family and friends.
I have set up this page to help my brother with any needs nessacery any help would be much appreciated . the photo below is of my brothers last treatment beads, Funds raised will be used to help toby achieve some goals and to help with bills once my mum will have to give up work to care for him, my mother julie also has crohns disease so this will also help reduce her stress levels.. Tobys cancer is on the spine he has been given up to a year left but unknown to how long he will be able to walk. With only a 20% chance of chemo doing anything for him but with 18 weeks of it that's nearly half his time with not much option laying in a bed not knowing if he will be paralysed with in that time we are planning on making the last of his time worth it making memories and having a blast while he can.. we are very great full to all of those who have donated and to all those who will
I am Toby Goodleys older sister.
Date with the specialists 15 May 2015
yesterday we had our date and received the news that Toby has been given up to a year to live. This is a hard update to do but we want to keep everyone informed. The help we have received has been amazing and we are very grateful for every donation that has been made. Toby is an incredible young man and i am honored to call him my son. We will be making the most of the time we have together with friends and family and making memories for us to have in our hearts for the rest of our lives. Toby is deciding if he would like to have some radiation or chemo or both these treatments will not prolong anything but can be done in the hope to keep him mobile for longer so he can enjoy life more. Once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
