Henry underwent open heart surgery due to a condition called an aortic dissection. The surgery was a success and he is now recovering.
Nationwide
Henry has had a major heart operation on 09/01/2019.
Henry felt unwell after returning from New Zealand so he went to the GP who sent him to A&E and was then referred to a specialist heart and lung hospital.
An unknown event lead to a condition called an aortic dissection. An aortic dissection is a serious condition in which there is a tear in the wall of the major artery carrying blood out of the heart (aorta).
To repair the aortic dissection he had to undergo open heart surgery which lasted 6 hours.
He was in ICU for a couple of days and recently moved into a ward. He is recovering very well and his surgeons have advised the surgery couldn't have gone any better.
Not quite the start to 2019 that Henry wanted but he's a tough bugger and we are hoping he will bounce back and make a full recovery!
It will however be a couple months recovery with no work or heavy lifting (and his mates playing nurse) so he may need a little help on the finances side of things.
This page will be kept up to date as he recovers.
I am friends with Henry who has had surgery in the U.K and is going to have a few months recovery so this will help him with the financial burden.
To help Henry through his recovery process and pay for living costs whilst he is not working.
