On 1 August, the horses' birthday, we're launching a Winter appeal to highlight the vital purpose of the NZ Horse Ambulance.
Nationwide
Across codes, across breeds, across disciplines—we’re #HereForTheHorse.
From race day initiatives to an auction of unique experiences on gavelhouse.com, a raft of activities will support the New Zealand Horse Ambulance Trust's winter appeal.
New Zealand is world-leading with its national dedicated horse ambulance service and charitable trust, like St John or the rescue helicopters, but for horses.
A horse ambulance attends close to 700 race meetings, trials, and selected equine events annually in New Zealand, safeguarding the well-being of our equine athletes. Designed and built in Mosgiel, the equine ambulance has significantly improved outcomes for horses injured in competition and training.
The Trust’s experienced operators work closely with the race day or event vet to safely transfer an injured horse to the nearest equine hospital, treating every patient with care and compassion.
Please support our winter appeal to raise funds and awareness for our vital service.
The New Zealand Horse Ambulance Trust was established in 2016 for the purpose of funding, procuring and operating a national fleet of horse ambulances. We invite you to join the mission and support our activities that protect and promote equine well-being.
Funds raised will help promote care and dignity for our sport horses.
