Here's to the ones who dream

Our daughter is a bright 10 year old girl, originally from Brazil, with an unusual passion. She loves Figure Skating instead of Brazilian football. Not long after our moving to New Zealand in 2014, she was introduced to ice skating through her school. She was hooked.

Today her dreams are big, but our funding for this challenging sport is running out. As a family of four we are struggling to find ways to pay the high costs of training all year long.

During the winter season, Clarice is on the ice at least four times a week. Training starts early, so she needs to wake up at 5 am to get ready for almost two hours on ice, before going to school. She's about to start her 4th year as part of the Skating Club and we refuse to believe that it is time to say to our talented daughter that she would have to give up on pursuing her dream to grow as a Figure Skater.

As parents, we confess that we didn’t want to ask for help. Considering that so many people are in need in this world, we hesitated to appeal for financial support for our healthy and blessed child, but we’ve got to the understanding that the world also needs dreams and dancing and jumping on the ice. This world is made of dreamers facing their fears, falling and standing up many times with a strong faith that there's a higher purpose in everything we do. Now, you have the opportunity to make this world a better place by supporting a little girl who shares the message that challenges are meant to be overcome.

ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR:

During summer:

Off ice training

Stretching and strengthening

Aerial circus for flexibility and strength

Ice Skating summer Camp (Auckland)

During the Winter:

Two mornings before school every week

At least one private lesson per week, after school.

Saturday squad training (early mornings)

General individual practice as much as possible.

ACHIEVEMENTS:

2016 - First place at Queenstown Club Championships (Development level)

2017 - First place in all competitions at her grade (kiwi Skate beginner). She also passed two stroking tests (at the same day) and moved up two levels.

2018 - Second place at South Island Championships (Elementary Level) and was second place in two other competitions. She passed the stroking test and now she’s about to start the season at JUVENILE level.

She's got all her single jumps and is working on her doubles.
