Hiking NZ for mental health

Hi I'm Blake, I am a 17 year old Kiwi that has just finished High School ! On the 1st of December 2019, I will be embarking on a 4 month long journey down the Te araroa trail. I will be attempting to become the youngest SOLO to complete the traiI. I will be starting in Cape Reinga at the very tip of the North Island and finishing in Bluff at the end of the South Island, taking approximately 3000 km to hike from start to finish. I am walking the country to raise both money and awareness for Mental Health within New Zealand. I have recently become aware that one in four Kiwis are affected by a mental illness at some point in their lives, this is why I hope to make a difference.

To celebrate the end of my High School years I wanted to set myself a challenge before I went into the workforce or further study and the Te Araroa had been at the top of my bucket list for years. I can't wait to meet new people and explore what New Zealand has on offer right in our own back yard. I hope to see you out there.
