Kim and her best friend Finn have already done countless adventures around NZ together and are both passionate about the outdoors and wish to raise funds from their epic adventure for a cause which aligns with their values - the 180 Degrees Trust.
Kim and Finn are already part way through their massive journey and you can read all about their adventures so far in Kim's blog www.livingnotexisting.net
Kim's goal is to raise $10,000 for 180 Degrees Trust (www.180degrees.org.nz) a charitable trust committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable youth in Canterbury. 180 educates, empowers and equips ‘at-risk’ young people to obtain a greater sense of self-awareness, confidence and gain positive decision making skills – helping young people who have struggled with mainstream schooling or who have been referred through the Youth Justice System. 180 uses outdoor education and high country adventures to inspire and teach life skills to initiate a turnaround in the young person’s life.
180 Degrees Trust is a charitable Trust, established in 2007 by a group of friends who all share a deep passion for the outdoors and an even greater heart for genuine connection and contribution to others – empowering disadvantaged youth in Canterbury, to make better choices.
180 has built a reputation for developing and supporting young people.
Our ethos is to use the challenges of the outdoors and through access to some of the most spectacular vistas in Canterbury, to challenge, educate and empower the youth we work with....."using the high country as our classroom"
The 180 Degrees Trust relies on grants and donations for approximately 40% of the income needed to continue their valued work with vulnerable youth in Canterbury.
