Holiday Hampers in memory of Taya

My name is Monique Kauri, in February this year we lost our beautiful 9 year old daughter Taya. We were blessed by so many through givealittle and are so thankful for the help that gave us in the beginning.

For the last four years I have been a mentor for at risk youth in my community Papakura,with an organisation called New Foundation Trust. One of our very successful programs aims to help support our young people transitioning from intermediate to highschool so that we can see settled, goal achieving teens.

It has always been on my heart to do more then just support our young people but also make a difference in their families lives too. So when thinking of how we can honour our daughter Taya, I knew that she would love to also do this.

My aim is to deliver 45 hampers in January to the families of the students I work with. We will also deliver 10 hampers each school holiday to names the schools give us who need some extra help. On the 8th of February, a year after my girl died we will put on a free family fun day for our community celebrating her life and the support she gave to all she related with.
