Holli has a long recovery ahead after a drunk driver crossed the centre-line — let’s help her back to her boys and her art practice!
Auckland
Our dear friend Holli has a long road ahead after a traumatic car crash in which a drunk driver crossed the centre-line and hit her car head-on, while she was driving home from visiting friends on Friday 19 June.
Holli’s boys were not in the car, fortunately. But she has multiple injuries that will impact her deep and devoted mothering of her beautiful kids Arlo and Indigo (and their pets). Her injuries and ongoing recovery also bring her community-building art practice to a sudden halt.
We need to help Holli in her recovery. The funds raised will go immediately towards her urgent needs and ongoing costs. Holli and her whānau are already bearing a heavy load of grief following their māmā Mandy’s recent death. The severe impact of this crash is also bringing up ongoing pain from old injuries caused when a car hit Holli while she was walking, pregnant with Arlo. Holli is strong, resilient, fierce and wonderful, but this is too, too much.
Holli shows up for all of us in so many ways. Let’s show our support for her. Holli’s whānau is providing wonderful support. In part we’ve set this up as we’ve had a lot of people asking how they can help.
We realise that times are tough for so many of us. Koha, big or small, is welcome. Holli would want you to give only what you can, and there will certainly be other ways to support her in the days and months ahead.
This campaign is being run by Amber & Gemma, longtime friends of Holli’s.
